Privacy

No accounts, no sign-up, no personal information collected — starting or joining a chat needs nothing but a room code and a passphrase you choose yourself.

Messages, images, and calls are encrypted in your browser before anything is sent. The server that connects two people together never has your passphrase and never has access to your content — it cannot read your messages, and it does not store any message, image, or call content, encrypted or otherwise. Calls run directly between the two browsers once connected, so the server never carries call audio or video at all.

The server keeps a room's expiry time, so an old room can be automatically removed, and a running count of how many rooms have ever been created. It also logs each visit to this site — the time, your IP address, an approximate location derived from it, and your browser's user-agent string — visible only to the site's operator. None of this is tied to a specific room, conversation, or identity: the visit log has no way to know which room a visit was for, or what was said there, only that a visit happened.

Your browser may keep a temporary, encrypted copy of your own conversation locally on your device, along with one display preference. Neither is ever sent anywhere, and both are cleared automatically.

Beyond the visit logging described above, this app runs no analytics, tracking, or third-party scripts of any kind.
